#9 - “No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid”
Dalat 14 Dec 2023,
Greetings from Techie Story!
December is already here. It’s the most busy time of the year, we hope you’re still taking good care of yourself and your loved one.
If you follow our social, you may notice Techie has produced a bunch of great stories this month. So here I wholeheartedly share what we have cooked so far:
Techie is now on TikTok to reach and share our stories with more people. We’re at 15k followers after only 20 days with a couple of stories went viral 😀
Techie supported to organize “Golang Meetup #18” after 3 years since COVID-19. Many Gophers got together and had a fun time at this event.
Stories told: The inspiring journey of four Vietnamese engineers from the US and Japan got published.
Featured Story
“These working days as a security guard make me appreciate my job as an IT engineer much more.” - Dung Ngoc Nguyen
When I interviewed Dung, I felt he was one of the guys with remarkable willpower. He comes from a difficult family and had to work as a security guard to pay for his tuition. He also worked tirelessly and studied hard, and eventually he was able to fulfill his dream of working abroad and then for a big US tech company. One thing I was inspired when talking to Dung is that it doesn't matter what your starting point is, just dare to think big, dream big, and then fiercely pursue your dream.
Read his story, you may find something for your own motivation there.
Other stories:
Khang Nguyen - Senior Software Engineer at SAIC (US): "The most stressful thing is being laid off right when my wife just gave birth a few months ago.”
Huy Tran - Senior Software Engineer at Navan US; blogger at The Notorious Snacky: “I write a tech blog and work on open-source projects just because I love the Vietnamese language.”
Dung Ngoc Nguyen - Software Engineer at Wolt/ DoorDash (Japan): “I have always wanted to go to Japan, Singapore, or America to work. The first two things I think of are learning English and good coding skills.”
We are always looking for more stories to tell. If you want to share your story, email us at team@techiestory.net or leave a message on our Facebook page.
Best,
